Confessions of a “creative” mommy

I decided to go public with some of the sneaky creative things I do to get through the day. Mostly in hopes that you’ll share some of yours! Please don’t judge me too harshly, we do what we have to do, right? : )

So….sometimes (always) I leave clean dishes in the dish drainer. Yup. This way, if I get caught sneaking lunch in the kitchen I just start putting dishes away and the kids get bored watching me and go play. Then I get to finish my cookie..er…salad….in peace.

I hide the toys that I don’t like playing with so much. Did I say hide? I meant “put away to surprise them with at a later time.” Yeah, that.  Some days I just don’t want to play cards, ok? : )

I know you all hide in the bathroom from quiet time, and let me just say – LUCKY! The lock is broken on our bathroom door, so I don’t get to take advantage of that one…

Before I had kids I thought to myself that I would never use candy to bribe my future children. Thank goodness I stuck to my guns on that one! I only use it as an incentive, never as a bribe 😉

Of course I pretend to be asleep and yes, I find that extra 15 seconds of having my closed very delightful, please don’t take it away from me.

I’m not proud of it, but sometimes I “forget” that I ok’d a piece of candy after nap time, a movie before bed or cereal for lunch tomorrow. It’s for their own good!

When my mommy brain untangles itself I’ll probably think of things to add, but that’s all for now. Your turn!
